Legal, Social and Economic Situation of Children with Separated Parents in Mozambique

Children consider separation from their parents as a central event of their childhood and they experienced several difficulties. Guilt for the end of the parents' marriage is one of the most serious effects on the formation of personality, which requires greater approximation and dialogue from the former spouses, in order to remove the idea of responsibility for divorce from the children. The research is qualitative and exploratory in nature and as for the method of approach used it was deductive and the instruments and procedures for data collection were semi-structured interviews and closed questionnaire. Through the present work it is concluded that the consequences arising from the separation of the parents, of which the reduction of the coexistence with the parents who do not have custody of the children stands out and, in this context, the father is often accused of being absent and not fulfilling his role.
