The aim of this article is to establish a connection between Hannah Arendt’s thought on the characterization of totalitarian systems in The Origins of Totalitarianism and the reflection made by Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer regarding the condition of unreflectiveness or incapacity to think. The hypothesis presented is that the three authors converge insofar as they understand that the inability to think makes individuals susceptible to the total domination advocated by totalitarian regimes.
