Psychoanalysis emerged from the curiosity of a unique mind, within a field of study grounded in the clinical practices of empirical observations, by a scholar who diverged from the concepts of his masters in his deepening of his knowledge. This occurred despite the discomfort and rejection of a time of transition in the Victorian era, the orthodoxies of absolutist values, and devastating anti-Semitism.
