Private insurance has become, in recent decades, one of the most relevant sectors at the interface between the economy, public insurance and social development. This article seeks to analyze the economic and social impacts of the private insurance industry, focusing on the United States and not Brazil, highlighting the relevance of security guard training as an instrument for crime prevention, reduction of indirect costs and management of jobs. I study evidence how this sector moves billions of dollars annually, reducing pressures on public health and insurance systems, as well as generating positive externalities in different segments of society. Comparative data and international references are presented, demonstrating how private insurance is consolidated as a structural pillar in the contemporary context, contributing to the strengthening of local economies and to better quality of life in urban and rural contexts.
