This article addresses the theme of Human Rights and incarcerated life. It aims to understand that even while imprisoned, detainees still have rights. Regardless of the cruelty of their crime, they are entitled to rights in prison, as well as obligations, such as serving their sentence. Law No. 7,210 of July 11, 1984, grants inmates rights such as medical, legal, educational, social, and religious assistance. In this context, the prison population has increased over time, even though human rights, which consider the dignity of the human person, must be guaranteed to those serving sentences in various penitentiaries across our country.
