Active Involvement of African Authors

RCMOS - Revista Científica Multidisciplinar o Saber is committed to promoting the active participation of African authors, especially from PALOPs (Portuguese-speaking African countries). We encourage the submission of papers by researchers from these regions, promoting diversity and representativeness on the international scientific scene.

By accepting manuscripts in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French, we aim to create an inclusive environment that values the contributions of researchers from different parts of the world, especially Lusophone Africa. This initiative reflects our commitment to broadening voices and perspectives in scientific production, enriching the global dialog on relevant topics.

We encourage African authors to submit their work, contributing to building a more diverse and robust international scientific community. We believe that this exchange of knowledge enriches the quality and relevance of the discussions presented in our journal.

Peer Review Process

RCMOS uses a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that the identity of authors and reviewers remains anonymous. The review process follows these steps:

  • Initial assessment - technical desk review

Carried out by the Technical Team. It consists of an analysis of compliance with the Guidelines for Authors.  Criteria are selected in terms of submission, metadata, formatting and duplicate authorship. If any discrepancies are found, the article is archived and the authors notified.

  • Next steps - double-blind peer review.

Articles submitted to the RCMOS Journal are evaluated on the following items: methodological rigor, grammar, writing, degree of originality and authorship, creativity, as well as alignment with the focus and scope of the journal.

When the work submitted is not in line with the Journal's editorial policy, it will be archived and the authors will be notified.

If the relevance of the work submitted is verified, the evaluation will continue using the double-blind peer review system. At this stage, ad hoc referees will be assigned according to the topic of the article. The reviewers are preferably professors and researchers associated with stricto sensu postgraduate programs at national or foreign educational institutions.

Double approval is required for publication. If there is a disagreement between the referees, the texts will be sent to a third referee.

The referees may accept the article, request revisions or reject it. Any of these options is justified by an opinion on the form.

When we get two rejections, the article is archived;
And if both reviewers accept the article, it goes on to the next stage.
Finally, when one or both reviewers request revisions, the work is returned to the author, requesting that the article be rewritten. And when the author sends back the reformulated text, according to the referees' suggestions, it is re-evaluated.

The editor decides which edition the article will be published in.

The articles will be published online as a pdf when they are approved in the Peer Review Process and then allocated their own issue. No changes to the pdfs will be allowed after approval in the evaluation process.

Editorial Authority

The Editorial Board and the Scientific Council have full authority to decide on the suitability of manuscripts for publication. In some cases, submissions may be returned to the authors with suggestions for revision and for adjustments to be made to the journal's editorial standards. After receiving the revised version, the work will be re-evaluated by the reviewers.

The journal's commitment to a rigorous peer review process and compliance with editorial guidelines ensures the dissemination of high-quality scientific and academic contributions in various areas of knowledge. Through this transparent and confidential evaluation process, the journal seeks to encourage collaboration and the advancement of knowledge in its fields.
