Abstract

This article aims to analyze entrepreneurship as a driving force for economic development in communities in transition, with a focus on the development of qualified immigrants and professionals in the civil service and construction sectors. Based on an interdisciplinary perspective — that broadens the fields of economics, sociology, management and administration —, the study discusses how foreign entrepreneurs contribute to business management, knowledge transfer and the revitalization of strategic sectors, both in the United States and Brazil. Cases such as the manager Wilson Cardoso Nunes, in charge of Hands of Freedom LLC, and Professor Ivan, a non-superior teacher, are presented as representative examples of the positive impact of immigrant leadership on social and economic development. An analysis shows a strong relationship between innovation, overcoming the shortage of qualified labor and strengthening economically fragile areas, highlighting immigrant entrepreneurship as an essential pillar of socioeconomic transformation and integration.
