Abstract

This article investigates the strategic relevance of international sourcing in the premium fresh fruit supply chain. It analyzes how multi-regional coordination, integrating producers in South America and Europe with the Brazilian consumer market, establishes a sustainable competitive advantage through the mitigation of biological and logistical risks. The study focuses on the management of a global supplier network and the impact of technical and phytosanitary barriers on profitability. Operational data shows that cargo consolidation allows for cost reductions exceeding 25%, while adaptive sourcing can increase margins by up to 50% in regional shortage scenarios.
