Abstract

This article investigates the crucial role of the operating system (OS) in ICT education within the Angolan educational context. Through na integrated analysis of the fundamental theory of operating systems, classroom pedagogical practice, and the specificities of the Angolan scenario, the study aims to understand how the OS influences student learning, teacher performance, and the technological infrastructure of educational institutions. The research explores the importance of OS knowledge for developing essential digital competencies, optimizing the use of educational software, and solving common technical issues in schools. Additionally, it considers the barriers specific to Angola such as disparities in technology access, teacher training challenges, and limited resource availability and concludes with recommendations to enhance the integration of the operating system into the ICT curriculum for a more effective, 21st-century education.
