The Role of the Internet of Things (IoT) in Monitoring Food Quality and Temperature DuringTransportation

This paper analyzes the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in monitoring perishable
food during transportation, focusing on temperature control and product quality. Through a
literature review and case studies, the paper discusses the operational benefits of IoT in cold
chain management, traceability, loss reduction, and improved food safety. It also addresses
technical and ethical challenges related to infrastructure, standardization, and data privacy. The
study aims to demonstrate how the strategic use of sensors and connected systems can
transform food logistics and contribute to more sustainable supply chains.
